(a.k.a. Two Thousand Maniacs)
The townspeople are the ghosts of the victims of an 1865 Civil War raid, which is why they’re luring Yankees into town and torturing them to death on the centennial of the occasion. Only Tom Mason and Connie Mason (no relation) escape. Everybody else gets crushed by boulders, torn to pieces by horses, rolled down a hill inside a barrel full of spikes, that sort of thing — you know, the usual Herschell Gordon Lewis fun.
