21 Grams (2003)
Jack Jordan (Benicio del Toro) hits and kills Christina Peck’s (Naomi Watts) husband and 2 kids. One child would have made it if he had not run off. She becomes involved with Paul Rivers (Sean Penn) who has just received a heart transplant and is planning to artificially inseminate his estranged wife (Charlotte Gainsburg). Paul and Christina plan to kill Jordan, who has left his family after being released from prison for the accident. During an fight, Christina tries to kill Jordan, but instead Paul shoots himself in the chest, as his new heart, which he received from Christina’s husband, is being rejected from his body and he is looking at dying a gruesome death. Jordan claims responsibility for the shooting, but Paul and Christina tell the cops the truth and he is released. Jordan returns to his family. Christina learns that she is pregnant with Paul’s baby. Paul dies.
