25th Hour (2003)
At his going away party for a 7-year prison sentence, Monty (Ed Norton) finds out that it was Kostya (Tony Siraguza) who turned him in, not Naturelle (Rosario Dawson). Jake (Phillip Seymor Hoffman) finally gives into temptation and kisses his underage student, Mary (Anna Paquin). Frank (Barry Pepper) makes some secret pact with Monty to help him out with his prison situation, but it is never revealed. Later Frank tells Naturelle what he thinks of her in a not-so-nice way. Monty’s father (Brian Cox) with whom he made peace earlier, drives him to prison where he offers, at Monty’s word, to drive in a different direction. We see them travelling across America; the plains, the mountains, the desert, and the ocean. Monty begins a new life, Naturelle joins him and they have a family. We later break to Monty and his father still headed on the turnpike in the direction of the prison, but we never know if they indeed get there.
