8MM (1999)
Private detective Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage) is hired by an old, rich window (of a recently deceased rich man). The widow is accompanied by the deceased man’s (and, presumably the window’s) lawyer. Tom’s job is to determine whether or not an 8mm snuff film found in the deceased man’s safe is real.
Welles follows a trail that leads (through the underbellies of Hollywood and NY) to the fact that the film is real and that the lawyer had hired sick perverts to make the snuff film for his client (the window’s deceased husband).
Welles finds the perverts. The perverts kill the laywer (over money issues), and Welles tracks and kills the perverts, vigilante-style. The End.
