American Me (1992)
A few years after the Los Angeles Zoot Suit Riots, young Santana (Panchito Gómez) and his gangsta pal Mundo (Richard Coco) get sent to juvy, where Santana is immediately raped — but manages to kill his rapist. Santana becomes a gangleader — and such an effective gangleader, his sentence is increased until he becomes an adult and goes straight from juvenile hall to Folsom Prison. Now played by Edward James Olmos, the grown-up Santana becomes a prison drug lord, a job he continues on the outside when he finally gets released. After lots of fighting and killing, he ends up back on the inside — where his enemies stab him repeatedly and throw him off an upper floor of the prison to his death.
