The Amityville Horror (1979)
Doors slam, a window crushes a kid’s hand, there’s a mean devil-dog in the basement, Rod Steiger is a priest who freaks out when the room he’s in fills up with houseflies, and James Brolin sees his own face badly-projected onto a brick wall. In the morning, the whole family runs screaming from the house. Talk about an anticlimax… The scariest moment in the whole movie is when Brolin can’t find a wad of cash owed to a wedding organizer, minutes before the wedding.
