Back Home (Made for TV, 1990)
Beattie (Brenda Bruce) dies and leaves her estate to Peggy (Hayley Mills). Rusty (Hayley Carr) finally runs away from home, and Peggy finally realizes just how horribly miserable her daughter really is. She has a showdown with the nasty headmistress, yanks Rusty out of that awful school, and — after finally dumping her cold bastard of a husband (Rupert Frazer) — moves Rusty and Charlie (Adam Stevenson) into Beattie’s house, where they probably live happily ever after. And Daddy Dearest probably spends the rest of his miserable life with his miserable mother (Jean Anderson).
