The Banger Sisters (2002)
When Suzette (Goldie Hawn) gets fired from her crummy job, she decides to leave L.A. and head to Phoenix to look up her old “banger” buddy (they were rock groupies, you see), Vinnie (Susan Sarandon). Her car breaks down, and she gets a ride with Harry Plummer (Geoffrey Rush), who’s on the way to Phoenix to kill himself (he has dead-father issues). Vinnie (now Lavinia, thank you) has turned into a totally Republican Stepford Wife control freak. After enough reminiscing with Suzette about the good old days of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, Vinnie gets wild all over again. Ultimately, her horrified hubby and their two daughters come to accept Mom for the wild thang she’s become again. Oh, and Geoffrey Rush doesn’t kill himself. (Hey, it’s a comedy.)
