A Beautiful Mind (2002)
John’s (Russell Crowe’s) roommate, the little girl, and the Ed Harris character are all figments of John’s delusions, as is John’s “spy” work for the government. John is hospitalized and undergoes shock treatment, but eventually decides to overcome his mental illness through sheer willpower. He still hallucinates, but now he just ignores his fantasy friends. At the end, he receives the Nobel Prize in economics.
