Pulp Fiction (1994)
Vincent (John Travolta) accidentally shoots Marvin (Phil LaMarr) in the face and splatters his brains all over the backseat of Jules’ (Samuel L. Jackson’s) car; the Wolf (Harvey Keitel) arranges to have Marvin’s body crushed inside the car at an auto-wrecking yard.
Mia (Uma Thurman) overdoses on heroin she finds in Vincent’s coat (she thinks it’s cocaine), but she doesn’t die, because, under Lance’s (Eric Stoltz’s) direction, Vincent plunges a needle full of adrenalin into her heart.
Halfway through the picture, Butch (Bruce Willis) shoots Vincent to death while Vince is sitting on the toilet, reading a Modesty Blaise novel.
Marcellus (Ving Rhames) spares Butch’s life after Butch kills Maynard (Duane Whitaker) and Zed (Peter Greene) after they rape Marcellus. Butch takes off on Zed’s motorcycle, and leaves town forever with his cute girlfriend.
Jules leaves “the life.”
And no, they don’t ever show you or explain what the glowing thing in the attach?s — but we like the theory that it’s Marcellus’ soul.
